Put the page in debug mode and please send the APEX debug output to support@tryfoexnow.com. Can you also please provide some details of the change? i.e. how many columns did you have before the error, and how many columns present when the error occurs.

The more info you provide the better we can understand the issue,

Thank you for the debug output, it has helped us pinpoint the issue.

There is a 32K limit of the SQL we execute for the tree query, enforced by the API which we use to return the query result data. Since we build the hierarchical tree query on your behalf the size of your query (or one returned from a plsql function) must be no larger than about 15K.

In this particular case the SQL statement you return has a lot of formatting for numeric and date columns which is responsible for such a large query string e.g.

htf.paragraph('right')||TO_CHAR(a28, '999G999G999G999G990D00', 'NLS_NUMERIC_CHARACTERS = ''.,''') a28

We suggest that you consider reducing the size of the query string, or change your design to show more row information in a popup window when selecting the record/clicking on an icon.

Hi Matt,

We found that it is not exactly based on no of columns. It is based on data of the columns. Now we tried with 50 columns and it is throwing an error.

We are able to display more than 50 columns if we choose different set of columns.

Debug Message sent to requested mail id.

Hi Matt,

Out of the columns displayed fine on the tree grid, while using search functionality system is again throwing an error: Action: Filter ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string buffer too small

This has been reported as an issue since the records are getting displayed fine but search is erroring out.

Can you let us know on this.

Hi Matt,

Any updates on this. Our query is around 10K characters only. Though the tree grid is coming up, the search is erroring out.

As previously stated the search query will be auto generated for you based on your grid query, it was just an estimate on size but it appears that it gets referenced 3 times within the final query.

We suggest that you look at reducing your query string size by creating a view, or you disable the search functionality for this tree grid and create your own search functionality.
